Originally, the book was meant to be a fairytale of a man crossing to a fantasy world. That concept was scratched after printing the first copy.
Now, Galbaath is all grown up, wasting his life away in a small town near the southern border of the now-Republic of Nikes. Although he knows where he comes from, it is the people that want to control him that makes him second guess his destiny. He must carve a path for himself or take the easy way and let them dictate what he is meant to be.
